Less is More 277 - Theme Something That Pops or Bangs

Hello there.

Yikes! another week has flown by.

It's been a funny old week. A friend broke her ankle so I've been visiting her in hospital and ferrying other non-driving friends around to visit her too. Amazing that most of the wedding bits and pieces I had to do got finished really. Having worked like a trooper,  I've only got the table plan and a few favour boxes to finish - oh! and a wedding card of course (mustn't forget that, eh?).

Anyway, enough waffle.

It's time to reveal the latest Less is More challenge
and this week is going to be a fun week because our theme is
something that pops or bangs.

Once again I managed 3 cards for inspiration.

This first one uses one of the stamps from the Penny Black Twelve Days of Christmas set (seven swans a-swimming).

I spotted the swimming ring with its sticking plaster already on it, so it has popped once already!

It was inked in memento ink and stamped onto linen card. The image was coloured with normal colouring pencils! You know, the sort that you buy children. I like the way they look on linen card.

The sentiment is computer generated and a little faux stitching was added to finish the card off.

This second card literally goes with a bang.

The 'bang' stamp is from Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz crazy thoughts and it was coloured with yellow and berry red promarkers to give that comic book feel.

I used an inverted corner rounder on the main panel and raised it onto the yellow card blank.

I was really brave and wrote the sentiment by hand. eeek!

Finally, I hope this one is a bit more classy. I love that rich deep pink card.

The balloon stamps are from Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Bird Crazy set and they have been gold heat embossed onto matt gold card.

The strings were hand drawn with a zig emboss calligraphy pen and then heat embossed in gold directly onto the card blank.

The tiny '50' is a tattered lace die cut.

Can't wait to see what you all come up with this week. There are some fun cards from the rest of the DT on the challenge blog, and probably more on their personal blogs too.

Thanks so much for your visit today.

And thank you to all you kind people that leave a little comment - it really means a lot. I know it's sometimes taken me a little time to get back to you recently but hopefully this week I'm back on top of the game again.

Hugs,
Sharon xx

  11. These are fantastic. I would never have guessed you'd used normal colouring pencils on the first card - the linen card stock works perfectly to make a feature of the grain and it looks great. So brave to handwrite the sentiment on the second card and I love the 'bang' stamp. Super colour contrast on the third card, so vivid and warm.
