Less is More # 324 - Spring Walk

Happy Easter!
It's so lovely to see you today.

Are you enjoying the spring break? I do hope the weather is being kind to you.
Hopefully you are all cramming in lots of crafting time over Easter and maybe you will have time to join us in the next fun Less is More challenge?

http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.pt/

This week our lovely guest designer is the talented Wendy from Pink and Dotty blog. Please pop over to her blog as she has made a beautiful card for this challenge inspiration. Also there is some fab inspiration on the challenge blog from the rest of the design team for you to look at.

I have 3 cards to share again today,
(even though I have had a very, very hectic week I managed a bit of crafting time for these).

So let's take a look.

1) Spring butterfly

One of the things that comes to mind when I hear or see the words 'Spring Walk' is, from the perspective of when I lived in the UK, a vision of fresh green leaves and buds. This vision is now coupled with lots of fancy butterflies that I see here in the Algarve. So I joined the two visions into this card.
A quick and simple card with stencilling, a die cut butterfly and heat embossed vellum.

STAMPS: Concord & 9th Butterfly Beauty Stamp Set
STENCIL: Imagination Crafts leaf swirl
DISTRESS INKS: twisted citron, mowed lawn, scattered straw
OTHER INKS: Marvy Blending Blox shades of orange, versamark clear
OTHER: WOW! Opaque bright white embossing powder, scrap of vellum, smooth card

2) Spring Flowers

Another thing I think about for spring walks are the spring flowers and blossoms, so these little images of a Nellie enjoying flowers came to mind.

STAMPS: Lili of the Valley elephant trio,
DIES: Sizzix Thinlets Tim Holtz Alterations celebration words script
EMBOSSING FOLDER: Sizzix - sorry it has no name on it!
DISTRESS MARKERS: Spun sugar, tumbled glass, mustard seed, hickory smoke, cracked pistachio, mowed lawn, lucky clover
OTHER: White card, blue card, water brush, 3d foam pads

Addicted to stamps and More! #237 - Make Your Mark

3) More spring flowers

Here is another card using the same stamps. I wanted to create a cartoon feel on this one so I coloured with Promarkers in block colour without any shading. I also wanted glossy tiles and a bit of bling so I encapsulated some glitter into the clear embossing.

STAMPS: Lili of the Valley elephant trio, Sweet Dixie big sentiments
INKS: Versamark clear, Memento Onyx Black
COLOUR: Promarkers, picket fence Distress Marker (the spots on the pink card
OTHER: Linen card, pink card, quickie glue pen, crystal glamour dust, clear embossing powder, ClarityStamps dots stencil, ribbon, 3d foam pads

  1. Three wonderful cards... I love them! The stencilled leaves on the first card highlight the glowing butterfly perfectly and having the sentiment on vellum is a light touch that works brilliantly for a spring card. I adore your elephant trio and can't believe how different they look with the two different colouring styles on cards 2 and 3. Both fantastic, but honestly I had to scroll back up to check it was really the same trio! Just gorgeous, both of them. Have a fab weekend x

  2. How did you manage to come up with three amazing cards Sharon? Your first card is beautiful and the colours you have used along with the vellum give a really soft look. I love any cute critter on a card and so both your elephant cards are great.

  17. That first card is just so elegant, Sharon! I love the delicate inking and sentiment on vellum. The elephant enjoying spring sunshine and flowers is fab too and looks great both in the soft and more vibrant colours. I hope that spring in the Algarve is feeling a bit warmer than here :)

  20. Please don't apologise for being late, I'm even later this week! Adore your first card with those citrus shades and the gently fading out stencilling. I always think of generic pastels for Spring but this card is so fresh. And those little nellie images are the sweetest, fab cards xx
