Less is More #353 & 354 - Fireworks (colours)

Hi there. Wow! November, eh? Where on earth has that last month gone? Today I'm here to introduce the first challenge of November at Less is More.

It's a COLOUR challenge and we want to see firework colours.  This challenge is going to last for 2 weeks because some of the LIM design team are attending a craft retreat next weekend. So there is plenty of time to get your entries in.

As it is a new month, we have a new sponsor for the whole of November.

And our guest designer for this challenge is the fantastic Birgit! She has made a stunning card for us and you can see it HERE. Please pop over to leave her some blogging love.

Also, if you head over to the challenge blog you'll find some fantastic inspiration from the design team - and maybe even a few bonus cards on their personal blogs.

I did some research on firework colours and it turns out that you can get them in all the main colours of the rainbow - so happy days!

I have 3 cards for you today.

1) Fireworks!

I immediately thought of firework images rather than colours when I started making my cards for this challenge, so I have to show you my first make. It is made with pounced & watercoloured distress stains representing the colours of the fireworks and firework shapes in various shades of WOW! sparkly embossing powder. What's not to love about this?

I may have pushed our 'clear white space' requirement to the very edge here, so I may get told off about this one, but the colours make me so happy I had to share it.

I'm entering this card into
Addicted to Stamps and More! #266 - Anything Goes
Ikesworld Challenges (It's the 100th challenge!!) - Celebrations
Tuesday Throwdown #367 - Watercolour

STAMPS: Clearly Besotted Dandelion Dreams
DIES: Tim Holtz Celebration words script
INKS: Versamark clear.
Distress Stains: mustard seed, ripe persimmon, festive berries, picked raspberry, salty ocean, lucky clover
OTHER: Wow! embossing powders: metallic brass sparkle, metallic gold sparkle, metallic copper sparkle. White card, watercolour paper

2) Glittering Christmas

For the next card I wanted to have a vast expanse of clear white space. I also wanted to capture the glitteringness (hmm, that's probably not even a word, is it?) of fireworks along with their colours so I heat embossed the tree in  glittering gold. That adds a lovely 'bling' to Christmas cards so I didn't even need to use the stickles that I had planned to add to each of the promarker coloured circles.

I'm adding this into:
Crimbo Crackers #144 - Quick and Easy to make
I love Promarkers #346 - Show Us Some Sparkle
Wow! embossing powder November Challenge - Christmas

STAMPS: Penny Black Twinkling
DIES: Die'Sire Merry Christmas
INKS: Versamark clear
OTHER: Papermanis Tinsel Gold embossing powder, Promarkers (Berry Red, Mandarin, Canary, Grass, Aegean, Purple) white card, Foam tape

3) Butterfly Thanks

I've been making a lot of 'square' and 'rectangle' layouts recently so I wanted to make a circular one for a change....with some butterflies. These are shop bought butterflies simply coloured with promarkers and glittered with glamour dust. (yes, I did sparkle for a week after making that card!)

This one is for:
CCEE Stampers Challenge #1744 - Thanksgiving or Card of Thanks
Craftaholics R Us #43 - Thank You
Crafty Creations #353 - Anything Goes

DIES: Tim Holtz Celebration Words Script, Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles
OTHER: Hobbycraft paper pearl white butterflies, Promarkers in Yellow, Mango, Berry Red, Grass, True Blue & Purple, Quickie Glue Pen, Crystal glamour dust, Corner rounder punch, White card

Well, that's it from me for now. Thanks for popping by, and I hope to see you again soon

Sharon xx

I made it to you eventually, sorry I'm so late! Well, what can I say, you obviously loved this challenge! I very nearly used the dandelion dreams set too but couldn't get a design in my head but you smashed it. LOVE that tree card, a brilliant way to add all those bright colours. And I love those glittery butterflies. All such fab layouts too. So glad I finally met you last weekend, hopefully we can do it again one day :) xx
