Less is More #370 - Sketch

Well, it's been an incredibly busy week for me so I only have the one card for you today.

We have a fantastic sketch for you this time - and I really wished I'd had more time to use this sketch in different ways, so I'll have to keep it in mind for future cards.

Our guest designer is  Sue Blamey of Sue's Card Craft, our February Winner. You can see her amazing card, as well as all the fabulous cards from the design team on the challenge blog .

Happy Bird-Day

I love these quirky birds of paradise! Especially when they are coloured up in vibrant colours. So I took out my promarkers (which do not get enough usage at the moment) and set about colouring.

I stamped the images and sentiment in memento ink and coloured them with promarkers. The images were cut out with stitched circle dies, then frames for the images were cut by nesting the same dies inside each other and adding the next smallest die down into the centre. The frames were adhered to the images, the sentiment mounted onto blue card with foam squares underneath and everything was attached to a piece of white card that had been secured to a blue card blank. It was finished with white sequins and matching blue beads in the centre of the sequins.

STAMPS: STAMPlorations Birds of Paradise
DIES: Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles
INKS: Memento Tuxedo Black
OTHER: White card, Blue Card, Promarkers (yellow, orange, berry red, violet, indigo blue), sequins, beads, foam squares, glue

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Sorry for my late comment, Sharon. What a fun card you've done with this sketch and such a clever design ! Those birds of paradise are fabulous and your combo of colours is just perfect for them. Striking contrast with the wide white panel. Love how you framed each one with a stitched circle and the bright and vivid sentiment strip is the perfect final touch ! LOVE it ! Have a fabulous week !
