Less is More #377 - Pets

Hi there!
At the time this post goes live I will be in the UK. I'm taking a brief trip over to help my Mum out with some stuff that needs to be sorted.  Then, when I arrive back home I'll have a house full of my kids and grandchildren. We are going to have such fun and I can't wait to spend some quality time with them.

So as the preparations for all these activities took up so much of my time recently, I only had the spare time to create one card for this challenge at Less is More. Here is the cue card:

Our generous sponsor for August is:

and we're also joined by the talented Hannelie, who was our June winner. Pease head over to her blog to leave her some love because she has made a fabulous card for us.

Also, if you go to the challenge blog  you'll find some fantastic inspiration from the rest of the LIM design team.

Naughty Mr Pussy Cat!

I just can't stop playing with this brilliant Cheshire Cat image from Visible Image! I love colouring him and today he's appearing as a naughty ginger tom.

This card has been inspired by a card that Jo Capper-Sandon entered into a Less is More challenge in 2011 (crikey! 7 years ago now!). I loved her design and had to pay homage to it with this little number. You can see her original card by clicking HERE.

I've also done a little decoupage and layered his arms onto foam pads, and then added a second layer of his face.

STAMPS: Visible Image The Cheshire Cat
STENCILS: Visible Image : fibres & Distorted Chess
INKS: Distress Inks (squeezed lemonade, mustard seeds, spiced marmalade, rusty hinge) Memento tuxedo black, Versafine onyx black
PROMARKERS: Soft lime, yellow & sunflower; amber, orange & burnt orange; pastel green, mint and lush green; cerise and carmine
OTHER: White card, blending tools craft knife, 3d foam pads, glossy accents

That's it from me for now.

I hope to have a few more cards for you next time....but I may not venture into my craft room if I am having too much fun in the swimming pool and at the beach! Anyway, have a good couple of weeks everyone.

Enjoy your trip to UK and the family visit after that! All that sounds great. Really love all the details on your card, especially the decoupage idea for giving dimension to this cat. Very fun and original card! xxx

I agree that is an awesome image, Sharon! You’ve captured the essence of the Cheshire Cat with your beautiful colouring and torn paper design. Amazing you remembered Jo’s card from 7 years ago! Love the decoupage to give him dimension... so creative and clever! xx

Such great attention to detail, Sharon. I've never seen Jo's cards but I made one very similar a while ago, but was made in a rush I never photographed it! And I love that you mentioned the cat's 'arms', Matt always laughs at me when I call them arms instead of legs! lol
