Less is More #396 CAS Embossing

Hello! Well, I'm back from my UK trip and I had a wonderful time with my girls and grandchildren ....and the weather was kind to us too, which is always a bonus.

But I'm not here to chat about that. It's time to introduce a new challenge at Less is More and this time it is about CAS embossing...so LESS THAN 1/3 of the card should be embossed.

Head on over to the challenge blog for some fantastic inspiration from the design team

I have 2 cards for you today so let's take a look at them

1) Floral For A Friend

This first card was actually made at the beginning of April for a card exchange, so I am okay to post it here because the recipient has had it for weeks. It has a combination of dry embossing and heat embossing. And I have to say....I love this flower!

Stamp and heat emboss the flower twice and the leaves once. Colour them with Zig clean colour real brushes then fussy cut them out. Cut a panel a little smaller than the card blank then dry emboss 3 lines along one edge, making each one smaller. Stamp and heat emboss the sentiment as the stalk. Mount the panel to the card blank with fun foam. Add the flower and leaves on foam too, then cut the middle petal from the second flower and mount this on top with more foam. Add 3 tiny gold gems.
Use only the middle petal of the second flower.

STAMPS: CAS-ual Fridays Mon Ami
INKS: Versamark clear ink
OTHER: WOW! primary ebony embossing powder, white card, Zig clean color brush markers, fun foam, gold gems

2) Let It Snow

On this card I went for the de-bossed look just for a change.

I'm still making the odd Christmas card so that there isn't that mad rush n October/November.

This is a really old embossing folderby Sizzix and I have no idea what it is called now. So, simple matting and layering with de-bossed to the front, add a die cut sentiment that has been sparkled and a couple of gems and the job is done. This design would be good for batch making cards.

DIES: x-cut mini sentiment dies
OTHER: Sizzix embossing folder, pearl card, light blue card, clear gems, stardust Stickles.

I'd like to enter these cards into the following challenges:

Let It Snow

Crimbo Crackers #185 - Anything Goes
Ike's World #120 - E is for embossing

CAS(e) this sketch #323

Time Out Challenges #136       My card uses the colours of the flowers and the lines from the table/tablecloth

Hugs,
Sharon xx

Two beautiful cards, Sharon ! I really love the Clean and Simple look of your first card, so gorgeous with those bright colours and the 3 embossed lines. Just perfect. Very creative 2nd card by using the de-bossed look on the front of the card. It looks like it has been die cut and layered white on white. Very stylish and inspiring, thanks for the tip. Hugs xx
