Splatter Christmas Tree and some Crackers

Christmas is still in full swing on my blog again today and this time I have another card that would be really easy to batch make. The gorgeous stamp sets I am using from Visible Image today are so versatile and I have made lots of cards in many different styles with these sets already.

I promise to share more of the cards in the future but as a bonus for today, if you scroll down you will also see some Christmas Crackers that I made with the background stamp. These stamps are great to have in your stash because you really don't need to do much to them to end up with a very elegant card.

So I'd better let you know how I made this card:

First mix a couple of colours of Perfect Pearls powder with a little water and taking a fan paintbrush add some splatters onto a panel of white card. Set aside to dry.

Cut a band of vellum and heat emboss the background stamp onto it in white embossing powder.

Take some water colour paper and wet it all over. Now add some warm colours of water colour paints and let the colours merge together. Whilst drying with a heat tool flick some water onto the panel to make little droplets. Let this water colour paper dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Stamp the outline Christmas tree onto the dry water colour paper with clear ink and heat emboss with black embossing powder. Now take the small tree and stamp a few random images in gold ink onto the larger tree image. Set aside to dry.

To finish the card, stamp the small circles and dots stamp from the Christmas Eve set onto the tree so that it looks like tinsel. Heat emboss that with sparkling snow embossing powder and fussy cut the tree out. Then doodle a border around the splattered panel and wrap the velum around that panel before attaching it to the card blank on fun foam. Attach the tree to the vellum.

I decorated the inside with more perfect pearls splatters and added a sentiment with gold ink.

Oh, and as a little bonus....the background sentiment heat embossed in gold onto red or green coloured card makes for some beautiful Christmas Crackers too. I bet that they would also look really elegant in black and silver too!
